Cascade Mountain

The name Cascade Mountain is a version of the Stoney name Minnehappa - ''the Mountain where the water falls''. It's an overthrust mountain, which exhibits much folding of the rock layers. This view was painted from the run-off creek that spills out of Johnson Lake above the Banff townsite.
